Governing Board Members Governance of the Lake Elsinore Unified School District is vested in the five members of the Governing Board, who serve staggered four-year terms. To be eligible for election, Board candidates must be at least 18 years old and must be a resident of and a registered voter in the district. Elections are held every two years. A new system of Elections by-Trustee-Areas was approved by the Governing Board in early 2012, creating five separate areas from which Board representatives will be elected to office in subsequent elections. |

Susan E. Scott, President |

Board President Susan E. Scott joined the board in 2008. Mrs. Scott is a Director of Student Services and a former middle school principal with the Romoland School District. In 2008, she was named the 2007-08 Middle School Principal of the Year by the Western Riverside County Association of School Managers. Before joining the Romoland district, Mrs. Scott was a teacher and administrator in the Lake Elsinore Unified School District. She holds a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Southern California and a master's degree in education from Azusa Pacific University. |

Heidi Matthies Dodd, Clerk |

Heidi Matthies Dodd was elected to the Governing Board in November 2010. As a District graduate and long-time resident of the Lake Elsinore Valley, Mrs. Dodd brings vast experience as an active community leader, parent, and school volunteer. She is the former President of the Lake Elsinore PTSA Council, in addition to being active in the Elsinore Woman's Club and the Lake Elsinore Valley Chamber of Commerce. Mrs. Dodd has also served on the LEUSD budget advisory committee, and has 22 years of sales management experience. Mrs. Dodd received her B.A. in Journalism from San Diego State University. She and her husband, Steven, have two sons currently attending LEUSD schools.. |

Jeanie Corral, Member |

Jeanie Corral was originally elected to the Governing Board in 1988. Mrs. Corral has a B.A. in History from Cal State Fullerton and received her M.A. in Social History/Women’s Studies, Magna Cum Laude, at the same institution. She works for two local newspapers and is the author of several books including "If These Walls Could Speak," a 100-year history of Elsinore High School. Mrs. Corral has served on a number of district committees and is one of the organizers of the annual "Unity In the Community" parade.

Tom Thomas, Member |

Tom Thomas was first elected to the Governing Board in November 2004. Mr. Thomas has lived in the Lake Elsinore area for more than 30 years and serves as the executive director of Cops for Kids, Inc., a nonprofit organization sponsored by the Riverside County Sheriff's Department to assist disadvantaged children and senior citizens. Mr. Thomas and his wife, Dee, a retired LEUSD teacher, are both active in Rotary Clubs in Riverside County and Baja Mexico. Their son, Matthew, is a graduate of LEUSD schools and attends Sacramento State University in a Masters Degree program. |
